Above: Small imagery of Pete Doherty, but name in big bold letters. Stands out and catches attention.
White Background: All the contents stand out more.
Use of Colour: Uses colours such as red and gold that stand out on the white background.
Title: Some of the Q title, logo and slogan, ‘Britain’s Best Music Magazine’, is covered up by a persons head, showing confidence that this is a well known magazine.
Text: The side headings and the text that follows on the left hand side covers the imagery, but does not cover above the waist of the people. Effective because the audience see expressions and emotions on the people.
White Background: All the contents stand out more.
Use of Colour: Uses colours such as red, black and gold that stand out on the white background.
Title: As like the Q Magazine, some of the Vibe title, is covered up by a persons head, showing confidence that this is a well known magazine.
Text: The side headings and the text that follows does not cover the imagery. This makes the person stand out as well as the text standing alone on the side.
Anaylsis Cover Three:

Use of Colour: There is only three colours used on this cover and they are black, white and red. All these colours stand out against each other and catch attention and are a good combination of colours to use.
Use of Imagery: There is little imagery used on this front cover but what is used is effective. The main imagery is a kind of silhouette in black and white that stands out on the white background and is effective because it can be seen. There is also an action figure type imagery in the corner and gaming equipment in the other corner and it sets the scene of what is going to happen in this issue.
Title/Text: Again the title of the magazine is slightly covered up which shows confidence in there self. Also all the titles seem to be bold and in red writing which makes them stand out more and become more noticeable.
The word exclusive makes it more important.
Anaylisis Contents One:
Use of Colour: There is many colours used in this contents page but it has a black background making everything on the page to stand out. The actual text contents is in white making that stand out more boldly.
Use of imagery: The use of imagery is used very well in this contents page as it shows many bright exciting places and fun events which makes the audience think that the contents of the magazine will be the same. This is very effective and would appeal to more people.
Text: The text in this contents page is of a ‘funky’ style and is very appealing to an audience as it differs from other fonts and contents page’s. The text is bold and stands out on the black background.
This contents page is effective and appealing to the audience. Its is informal but at the same time interesting.
Analysis Contents Two:

Use of colour: There are many different colours used in this contents page but all of them stand out against the white background and this makes them interesting and effective.
Use of Imagery: There is lots of little bits of imagery used in this contents page all again are full of colours and are effective.
Contents: There is a lot of contents to be seen on this page and it shows that there is a lot in this magazine to interest people.
Titles: All titles are in bold but the same colour as the contents that follows which links what the titles are leading too.
What makes this contents page effective is the use of colour and imagery used on it as it looks fun rather then dull and boring.
Analysis Spread One:

Use of Colour: There are three main colours used in this magazine spread- red, black and white. This makes the rest of the article stand out.
Text: There is no text headings or any quotations on this spread which makes it less interesting.
Use of imagery: There is not many images used in this article, but one large one at the top which shows expression and two smaller ones set in the top right hand corner and one on the bottom of the spread. These images do not really have much effect as they don’t really show much but expressions.
This spread is quite informal and is not very effective as it does not show much.
Analysis Spread Two:

Use of imagery: Imagery stands out as most of it is on a red background and the colours stand out from the background. For example the model on the cream background is wearing a green dress which stands out from the backgrounds itself but makes the model kind of blend in, which makes the dress more apparent.
Text: Titles seem to be in bold so that then stand out more making them eye catching and effective. The title above the article stands out in italics and different colours. It also makes the audience want to read on to find out why they want that.

Analysis Conclusion:
To conclude on my analysis I can say that the magazine covers that I chose may not of been the best choices to analysis because they do not link to what I plan to do but they have give me an idea of what I need to do and what I don’t need to do to make my magazine appeal to an audience and to be effective.
